Our Team

Bellaghy Pharmacy has been trading in the same premises on Bellaghy Main street for over 50 years.

It was developed initially by the Dougherty family who also had a successful hosiery business in adjoining premises. Mr Raymond Stewart became the next owner and in 1995, Mr Michael McVeigh took over the reigns, until his retirement in December 2005. Local pharmacist Maurice Diamond is the present owner and pharmacist.

Maurice qualified as a Pharmacist in 1991 and worked in many Pharmacies across the North before purchasing his first pharmacy in 1999 in Dromore, Co. Tyrone. He subsequently moved back to his home village in 2006 after purchasing the business from Michael. Maurice is supported by a very professional team of staff, who provide a caring, welcoming and courteous service to our wide customer base.

The quality of our staff is definitely among the highest to be found anywhere in the pharmacy trade across Northern Ireland and with many years combined experience they are able to offer legendary customer care. They are Alicia Steele, Ray Speir, Patricia Larkin and Valerie Cross.

We value our customers faith in ourselves and we constantly look for ways of improving our service through frequent staff training events and continuous customer feedback.

Maurice is assisted on occasions by pharmacist, Una O'Farrell, who qualified in 2008 and is very proficient in ensuring the smooth operations in the dispensary and also Pre registration Pharmacist Sarah Louise Boyce who graduated in summer 2009 and is currently completing her post graduate training.
